The festival this year is dedicated to co-founder Michael Dwyer, who passed away in January. Festival Chair Arthur Lappin spoke at the opening: “Although Michael Dwyer is sadly no longer with us, he will continue to be a benign and reassuring presence in this Festival for many years to come.  We are especially pleased to welcome here tonight Michael’s partner Brian Jennings and his sisters and nephew and I hope it will be a matter of comfort and pride to them to know that the 2010 Jameson International Film Festival is formally dedicated to Michael’s memory.  We remember Michael with great fondness and we are inspired by him to revel in the wonder of film.”

Guests throughout the duration of the festival include: Kristin Scott Thomas (Partir), Patricia Clarkson, Ruba Nadda and Alexander Siddig (Cairo Time), Timothy Spall and Michael Sheen (Alice in Wonderland 3D), Luca Guadagnino and Tilda Swinton (I Am Love), Ciarán Hinds (Life During Wartime), Kirk Jones (Everybody’s Fine), Leslie Zemeckis (Behind the Burly Q), Samuel Maoz (Lebanon), Tom Harper (The Scouting Book For Boys), and Academy Award winner Fernando Trueba (The Dancer and the Thief). Special events include a concert of the film scores of legendary composer Nino Rota to celebrate the 50th anniversary of La Dolce Vita; a gaming forum featuring ‘God Game’ creator Peter Molyneux, seasons of both Korean and Russian film, and a retrospective of film artist Kenneth Anger.
